OUR PLATFORM:  PUTTING LAKEWOOD FIRST
"Lakewood deserves leaders who answer to the people — not to politics as usual. Too often, decisions are made by those deeply intertwined with systems that prioritize personal ambition or political alliances over the real needs of our residents.  I’m running to bring a new perspective — one rooted in everyday experience, community connection, and a clear focus on what matters most: the people who live, work, and build their lives here. I’m not here to protect the status quo; I’m here to challenge it — to demand transparency, to elevate community voices, and to ensure that every decision made is for the public good, not political gain."

"Our platform is built on the belief that Lakewood’s strength comes from our communities— and that real leadership means putting Lakewood residents first, always."
LIST OF ISSUES
Transparency and Accountability

Bring back real dialogue between residents and elected leaders— including regular town halls, open office hours, and clear communication about city decisions with input from residents first.

Lakewood deserves leaders who listen, and act with integrity.

  • We will hold regular town halls, ward meetings, and open office hours to ensure everyone has access to city officials, and an opportunity to participate in decisions that affect our community.

  • Regular, accessible communication about city plans, spending, and projects — prior to any change being made-- stopping the back room deals and after-the-fact communications to residents.

  • Making government processes and programs easy to understand, access, and utilize for ALL-- not just insiders.

Housing Affordability

Protect Lakewood’s unique character that's rooted in its diversity-- seniors, young families, first-time homeowners, and lifelong residents living side by side-- protecting our legacy by ensuring housing programs are accessible and affordable for everyone who wants to call Lakewood home.

  • Advocate for smart policies that keep housing affordable without pushing longtime residents out.

  • Support responsible development that respects neighborhood character and community needs.

  • Prioritize protections for renters, seniors, and working families so Lakewood remains a place people are proud — and able — to call home.

  • Expand Lakewood's first-time home buyer down payment program.

  • Introduce and fight for legislation, within my first 6-months in office, to lower the city's inside millage rate on property taxes by 5%.

Environmental Sustainability

Protect our parks, green spaces, and Lake Erie shoreline. Invest in sustainable city planning to preserve Lakewood’s beauty for future generations.

Protecting our environment isn’t optional — it’s essential to preserving Lakewood’s future.

  • Invest in protecting our parks, trees, and beloved Lake Erie shoreline.

  • Support sustainable city planning and smart infrastructure upgrades that reduce our carbon footprint.

  • Promote policies that encourage greener living — from public transportation to recycling to energy efficiency — to keep Lakewood beautiful and livable for generations to come.

Preserve ALL Lakewood Schools

Lakewood was designed to be a walkable community over 100 years ago. At the heart of that walkability are our neighborhood elementary schools.

Our schools are not only where our children meet their lifelong best friends, where neighbors connect as we walk our kids to school or where important community issues are discussed-- our schools are the anchor of our community.

I'm proud to be the only candidate running for City Council who has supported Preserve Lakewood Schools from day one. When others were silent, I stood up and demanded answers.

When elected, I will keep fighting to ensure that Lincoln Elementary, and all of our schools, stay open and operating as intended.

Public Safety and Community Health

Invest in community-based safety initiatives, support first responders, and prioritize mental health services for residents.

Everyone deserves to feel safe and supported in their community — but real safety goes beyond just policing.

  • Invest in community-based safety initiatives that prevent issues before they start.

  • Strengthen support for our first responders, making sure they have the tools and resources they need.

  • Expand mental health services and crisis response teams, because a safer Lakewood is a healthier Lakewood.

Safe Streets

  • Infrastructure & Design Install speed bumps, speed humps, or raised crosswalks to physically slow traffic. Add traffic calming features like narrower lanes, chicanes (zigzag road patterns), or curb extensions at intersections. Improve street lighting and visibility to encourage drivers to slow down naturally.

  • Enforcement & Monitoring Increase police patrols and radar speed enforcement during peak speeding hours. Use automated speed cameras or radar signs that display driver speeds to raise awareness. Coordinate with Lakewood Police Department to issue citations in problem areas.

  • Community & Education Launch awareness campaigns about the dangers of speeding in residential areas. Organize neighborhood watch programs to report chronic speeders. Conduct driver education outreach, especially to younger drivers

Economic Growth That Works For Us

Boost local small businesses, create opportunities for young entrepreneurs, and attract smart, responsible development that fits our neighborhoods.

Lakewood’s economy should work for the people who live and work here — not just big developers or outside investors.

  • Champion local small businesses and create programs to support young entrepreneurs and start-ups.

  • Encourage smart, responsible development that fits the character of our neighborhoods — not projects that prioritize profit over people.

  • Focus on creating good-paying jobs and strengthening Lakewood’s independent, creative economy.
